Group Day Admin

Group day is just like another School Pet Day but on a larger agricultural scale. This is where the member schools send all their agricultural animals for a second round of judging.  The schools include Springston, Tai Tapu, Broadfields, Lincoln and Ladbrooks.  Each of these schools is part of the management committee and takes a two year turn in the rotational organisation and hosting of Group Day.

2015 & 2016 - Lincoln
2017 & 2018 - Tai Tapu
2019 & 2020 - Ladbrooks
2021 & 2022 - Springston

You need to have sent out all the documentation so that people come with the necessary legal documentation like TB certificates and calf tags in ears.  Cups need to have been collected and a plate for morning tea requested from each family.  Send out the poster early with the dates so the schools can promote the event.

Labels and tethering areas are needed for junior, intermediate and senior lambs, junior and senior beef and dairy calves, pigs, poultry and kids.  In 2014 we needed 6 warratahs for each of the four calf stations and five for each of the three lamb stations.  Heavy rope was tied between the warratahs to provide a suitable hitching place.
Space is needed for pig cages, tethering goats and a dry sheltered place for the poultry.

The age categories are:
Lambs:
Junior Year 1 - 3
Intermediate: 4 - 6
Senior: 7 - 8

All other sections:
Junior: Year 1 - 4
Senior: Year 5 - 8

Set the ribbons up in a sheltered area, with their corresponding cups.  We are only awarding 1st (red) 2nd (blue) and 3rd (yellow) ribbons and they are printed with the club name and placiing rather than with separate categories.
Ribbons should be ordered by August from:
